Dear Dallas Community families,
The 2016-17 application process was closed April 30th and the following Monday, Andrea assisted by a past DCS board member ran the school lottery. We will start the 2016-17 school year with 156 students. An enrollment acceptance e-mail has been sent to families with siblings of current DCS students, all 18 have accepted, and to families who are residence of the Dallas SD service area. Once enrollment is reached, remaining families will be notified and placed on the DCS waiting list.
Monday May 16th is the last day to turn in receipts to your guides for purchases made using the student allotments. This will give Andrea time to process checks and to get the DCS books ready to be closed at the end of June. Remaining unused funds are forfeited and go into the DCS general fund budget for the 2016-17 school year.
Andrea received initial training in the cataloging software DCS has licensed to track non-consumable materials. We will let you know when we are ready to begin to check in those materials purchased with allotment monies. At that time we ask that you work closely with your guide to make sure all non‐consumable materials are checked in. Keep in mind that these materials are the property of DCS.
We encourage you to take the DCS survey that will help to inform our morning program for the 2016-17 school year. Even if you are not planning to participate at this time your feedback will be of value. There is also a question about your Middle School aged students and/or kindergarten aged students as well as a space for additional comments. Six students remain to finish up state assessments before June 10th.
